Artist - Sujata Aten

My paintings are based on collected experiences and memories of being born and brought up in India, my travelling and having lived in England since 2000. I am passionate about colours and I am inspired by landscapes, nature and wildlife for my paintings.

For my abstract landscape paintings, I work from my memory trying to recreate the feelings and the mood that the depicted landscape signifies to me. I do not always produce an accurate representation but aim to evoke a sense of personal experience, to create an image which brings together different aspects of the landscape.

I work mainly in my studio, but I develop ideas by taking photographs and drawing in a sketchbook outside in the field. I like to use acrylic and oil paint depending on the subject and effect I wish to create. 

I started to fully dedicate myself to painting in 1998, and since then I have exhibited and sold many paintings both in the UK and internationally. I completed my BA (HONS) Fine Arts from University of Derby in 2009. Recently I got involved in the conservation of wildlife and intend to raise funds through your support to save wildlife in its natural habitat.

Artist - Carol Heft

Carol Heft began studying drawing and painting with Robert Brackman, N.A. at the age of 12, and later studied printmaking in high school and drawing and painting at the Rhode Island School of Design. She moved to New York City in 1976, and has lived and worked there ever since.  Currently, she splits her time between New York, and the Lehigh Valley, where she teaches art and art history.

An artist with a broad range of interests, her most recent work incorporates bits of paper culled from throw-away objects to create unified surfaces motivated by the Divisionism of Seurat, the glistening and jeweled surfaces of old Byzantium, and contemporary mosaic artists like Isaiah Zagar of Philadelphia.  Other influences are the gestural action paintings of the American abstract expressionist and New York School, and Paleolithic art.  

Carol is married to Jazz musician and composer Bill Warfield, and they have collaborated a number of times on concerts, exhibitions, and lectures.  Analogies between music and art are an important aspect of her work, including the melodic line, orchestration of color, compositional development, and rhythm.  According to Carol, “Sometimes I think of the brushstrokes or small paper tesserea as individual notes that interact, creating small pockets of harmony or discord, with the whole always being greater than the sum of it’s parts.”  Musical texture and color are translated into visual language in her work, sometimes intuitively, sometimes on a conscious level, but the design similarities between weight and volume and dynamic range in music are always present.

“In my recent work, I have moved toward untangling the iconographic and emotional content from the concrete visual presence of the subject.  Just as the environments and objects in representational art embody part of the message, the formal aspects of my work do the same.  Gesture, color, the varying scale of marks, and the spacial movement in the picture plane are what intrigue me.  To me these visual elements transform my experience of the natural world into a magical, spiritual place, and that is what I hope to share with the people who look at and appreciate my work.“.

Carol’s work is represented in many corporate and private collections, and she has been reviewed in national art periodicals such as Arts Magazine, ArtDeal, and Art in Review.

Artist - Helen Frances Barlow

Helen Frances Barlow is an artist and designer based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.

She has a degree in Graphic Arts as well as professional qualifications in: typography, painting, printmaking and life drawing.

Artist - Tracey Athay

For my Fine Art degree I specialised in printmaking and sculpture, but I love to paint too so my work covers all 3 media. Sometimes I produce pieces that combine these media, such as printing 
onto/within a sculptural form.

Although I also did a postgraduate diploma in Art Therapy, I prefer not to work as a therapist, since for me, the drive to create my own art supersedes that of anything else. 
My work has been exhibited in various UK galleries, principally in London and Edinburgh.

Exhibiting Artist - Paul Seymour

Paul Seymour's interest in photographic art came about as a by-product of his job as a Web designer, because he would photograph own web site content.   This developed in to is considered, by many people, as a unique style.  


"I love the use of saturated colour and heavy contrast which is probably why I was drawn to the specialist technique of HDR. HDR done badly is awfull - HDR done correctly is superb".

Paul uses this special technique plus a variety of other processing and production methods together to create what is regarded as a superb method with which to draw out the true feel and ambience of a scene.  


"Each image I produce, I like to think, exudes atmosphere, mood, ambience - call it what you will - they are certainly unique in every sense".

Paul is currently in negotiations with a handful of galleries from as far afield as London, Bristol, Glasgow and the South West to exhibit his works. "I am very proud of this!".
