Artist - David Fright

I was trained in graphic design and illustration at a studio in London's Fleet Street, qualifying for membership of the Chartered Society of Designers in 1974.  My long and successful career took me around Europe and to America designing for many high street names and other prestigious companies, picking up many design awards along the way.
"Time Flies" Original Oil on Canvas
Now retired I continue to satisfy my creative need by painting and drawing from life. I have used just about every medium there is over the years, but now have settled into the magic of oils.
Painting in multiple layers of fine oil gives depth and realism to a painting and I find this very old method a delight to use.  It also draws on my many years experience in using watercolours by airbrush to give similar results; useful when painting for reproduction, but lacking the permanence of oil.
I exhibit with local art societies as well as on line. My paintings are now in private collections around the world.

In recent studio work Valery  focuses on the complex and intriguing relationship between realism and abstraction in contemporary painting.  These pictures earned the artist a reputation of a Contemporary Master (“Art In London” Magazine, 2008).

Artists - Elena Kourenkova

I am a Russian-born artist based in Glasgow, Scotland, since 1996. I am self-taught, although I had studied arts as part of my degree as an architect. All my subjects are loosely based on own experiences and observation of life-and are therefore recognasable, which often provokes a smile or a laugh (much desired effect).
"Window Shopping" Original Oil on canvas
I try to reflect everyday events in a diffrent, lighter way; my subjects (although at times seemingly emotionally isolated, even when they are clustered in groups) do not take themselves too seriously, they just go about their business as if no-one is looking.
"All Types & Conditions of Men" Original Oil on canvas
I have been painting professionally since 1999 and am represented by many established galleries throughout UK. There had been a number of articles concerning my work in national and local press and images had appeared in C4' Grand Designs.

Artists - Paul Chambers

Since the age of five I have always enjoyed drawing and painting. Before I retired in 2007, I worked as a computer systems programmer / graphic designer for a  company providing identification solutions to the apparel industry (labels to you and me).
"AN ORIGINAL ARTWORK" Painted with acrylics onto box canvas unframed
Since then I have been creating abstract and impressionistic artworks mainly for sale on-line. My studio is called "art4now" because that's what my artwork is  - its art for today at a sensible price so that it can be replaced regularly. Most of my paintings are in acrylic paint on canvas, and sometimes I add marble dust paste, paper, fabric, or anything else that comes to hand to give the work texture.

Generally my abstract paintings have no titles. I just number them instead. Over the years my work has found its way into hotels, restaurants, receptions, show homes, as well as private homes in several European countries, America and Australia. Thank you for taking the time to look at my artwork and you can see more of my work at exhibiting-artists.com

Artist - Jude Robinson

Jude Robinson was born in Bolton, UK, and spent most of her life in the Lancashire area.  She had always loved being creative from a very young age, her mother kept the detailed artistic drawings she did from when she was just 4 years old.
As a teenager, Jude was intent on furthering her art career but unfortunately life took her on a different path.  When her working life abruptly ended due to a spinal injury, she moved to the beautiful countryside on the Shropshire/Powys border in the UK with her husband and young children.

Due to her disability, Jude found that painting and drawing became very therapeutic.  She undertook a course at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology in oil painting and now her passion for all things art has been reborn.
Jude particularly loves capturing landscapes, seascapes and skies which are inspired by the countryside surrounding her.
Jude Robinson has now become a successful artist selling many of her paintings and completing several commissions for clients across the UK.  She will be exhibiting her work in 2011 in local galleries and be seen on our website   exhibitingartists.com

Artist - Jonathan Shepherd

I was born in Derbyshire in 1961 and continue to live high up in Matlock Bath with glorious views over the surrounding countryside. After leaving school at 16 I served an apprenticeship as a plumber before joining my father in a picture framing business (PEAKLAND ARTS). It was during this time that my interest in painting was kindled and I taught myself to paint, initially in acrylics and watercolours but now mainly in oils.

In 1991 I took over the framing business from my father and continue to run it to this day, although a lot more time is spent painting now. I have won several painting competitions including the Derbyshire Pro Loco Painting competition final which is a culmination of paintings done in various villages throughout Derbyshire which all have to be finished on the day and are then voted for by the public.

After several exhibitions my work is in collections in the USA , Australia and Europe as well as the UK. I mainly paint landscapes of Derbyshire and other rural areas of the UK but of late has been experimenting with other subjects and painting styles.

Artist - Martin Davis

I was born and brought up in a coal mining village in Derbyshire UK in the 1950’s and 60’s and developed a love of art from an early age.
After University in Birmingham,UK from 1973-76 I joined the fire & rescue service... a career I completed 30+ yrs later in 2007.
A means of escapism in childhood art has since been a passion I've carried with me ever since, throughout the 1970’s as an undergraduate and into adult life in the emergency services.
I only turned fully to painting from 2008 after I left the fire service and found time to devote to it.
About my art
There is a feeling of immediacy, of life, of connectedness, with painting that I don't get from anything else..... anything at all.  So I have to paint. My only regret is that I have neglected it for so long.

"First Light Dorsoduro" - original art on canvas by Martin Davis

I am principally inspired by colour, and light & atmosphere. I paint mainly in oils because I love its texture. But I do experiment with other media..... and I do have a pretty eclectic kind of approach to subject matter.
I consider myself to be a modern traditionalist painter.  I don’t have any favourite subject matter, instead my imagination is fired by a certain indefinable quality in everyday things, often linked to a memory from the past.  Sometimes just part of a remembered image-even something simple like the sunlight playing on a hat brim-is all it takes. There is a kind of beauty inside everything if you look close enough – it doesn’t have to be anything intrinsically pretty, or attractive or especially worthy of attention.  In my experience quite often it is better if it isn’t.
I have always felt that a piece of the artist goes into everything he/she creates, so I endeavour to make each artwork absolutely unique. Like most artists, I suspect in their heart of hearts, I don't paint primarily to sell, so prices for my work are always reasonable. My goal isn't really to sell art at all, although I am extremely happy when someone wants to acquire a piece. My greatest hope is that my art will "touch" them personally.
"Sunstroke 1" original oil on canvas by Martin Davis
I still want to exhibit my work......but it's not why I paint, it never was. Painting for me just calms the soul. It's my private world.
Education
Although I am a self taught artist with no formal training beyond school I have painted all my adult life. I still consider myself a student practicing my art, probably I always will.
In 2010 I was shortlisted for the Art of Giving, National Art Competition at the Saatchi Gallery, London.
